Owner and Chef Karen Melanie, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and the
International Pastry Arts Center, founded Melanie’s “A Bistro”, an acclaimed Farmingdale, Long Island Restaurant in 90’s. After a very successful run she relocated her restaurant to the White Mountains of New Hampshire in 2003. Chef missed the Island and returned in 2011 to open her new Restaurant Bistro Etc, located at 43 b Main St. in beautiful downtown Port Washington, NY.
Update: Chef Karen has decided to transform her Bistro (post covid) into a Culinary Marketplace (Bistro GoFood Marketplace).
Chef Melanie has a unique talent for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. She is constantly reminded of the growing change in people’s palates. Her abilities have allowed her to adapt to these changes quite easily. Her menu is a representation of this. You will find a multicultural selection of foods authentically prepared and presented.
